So, this past weekend was pretty busy for me...
Friday
I get home from work early (because everyone else was leaving early) and find out I'm going out for the night with Will. I head out to Bayshore to pick out a watch that he was going to buy me (to add to the books he already bought for me). We head out to Baton Rouge in Kanata (downtown would've been cool too, but I was already downtown all week - and the restaurant is only a block from my office too) and I had a great meal. I had filet mignon with their delicious baked potatoes (I always get the baked potatoes). This was Will's first time in Baton Rouge, and he loved it!! He loved the atmosphere, the food, the people. It was great! It's safe to say we will be returning to it!! Afterwards, we made it to our movie in time and watched Pirates of the Carribbean (finally!!) Dead Man's Chest and I found it to be a tad predictable but it was funny and great none-the-less. By the time we got home it was 11:30 and Will had been at work for 6am that morning. So his energy fuel was dying when we got home (I'm impressed he didn't fall asleep in the movie)
Saturday
I head over to see Jenn & Scott's new house (currently in the making) and it's been wrapped (the outside of the house) which means it's ready to get the stonework and siding on. And they have insulation in their walls inside, which means the next step is drywall, hopefully!! It's such a gorgeous house, and HUGE yard!!! WOW! I cannot wait until they move in to see the finishing product! And it will be so cool to have Christmas there this year!! After the house-visiting, we grabbed some lunch and headed to Steph's current residence (with 1 month left now), but none of us went swimming, but I attempted to suntan. Didn't work too well, lying on the diving board - - worried that A) I would fall in, B) I would get pushed in. We ended up getting pizza (me & Steph) and watched Rumor Has It with Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner. It was ok. A little odd, and the whole "I was born less than 9 months after my parents were married - - my mother must've had an affair" thing bothered me abit... haven't people heard of premature births??? Or, in the more modern sense, pre-marital affections??
Sunday
Stephanie & I headed downtown for the day to check out the Busker Festival (which some were good, and some I thought the people were seriously crazy) We ended up going shopping at Rideau before the festival started (noon) and I bought a pair of jeans from Jacob, a shirt from Tommy Hilfiger, and some Yoga/athletic pants from Old Navy and spending only $50 (pre-tax). We grabbed lunch, headed to Sparks Street for the festival and decided only to stay and watch the "Stomp" group. We stood in the sun, and I could feel sweat dripping down on me and feeling a little light-headed, knowing that I just got burnt to a crisp. We then headed to the market to check out the jewelry and then headed back to Rideau for more shopping. I was completely exhausted and just crashed as soon as I got home. And true enough, I got burned, not too badly, but it still itches and aches.
Monday
Good old Holiday Monday. I love long weekends!! I usually end up doing so much on the weekends, that I so drained by Monday morning having to wake up at 6am. But this extra day was just what I needed. I dropped Will off at work and headed to Walmart to pick up some packing tape (and other stuff - - flip flops for $2.50) and just relaxed at home doing a bit of packing every few hours. I have made a "To Do" list of stuff both Will and I have to do before we move (23 sleeps now), and I'm impressed at how well I'm staying on top of it. It's still going to be so busy the last week of August, but there's nothing I can do about it. It's not like I can pack up my kitchen stuff, when I still have lower the level of food in the fridge/freezer. Then we went grocery shopping (24hr. Loeb seemed to be the only store open past 6pm), and relaxed at home.
Overall, a good weekend. Only 3 weekends until we move!!! :S
